John Deere Stuck In Gear?
My mom 's 1970-something john deere 160 riding lawn mower is stuck in first gear. she can 't get it to move at all. not even to neutral to get it out of the garage and to a shop. any suggestions?? (Read answers)

I searched craigslist and found a newer john deere for $450 usedproblem is that where the blade deck " holds blades " mounts onto the tractor itself is broken and needs to be welded... how much to get something like this welded ? and its a good buy? (Read answers)
John Deere Gator Died On Me Within Minutes?
The hpx gator had been running fine over the summer, but didn 't run great. i changed the oil about a month ago, and all of a sudden it was running so much smoother and started up so much nicer. well, the last couple weeks, it 's been running a little rough. when it was cold, you really had to baby the accelerator, otherwise you 'd enter these gaps where the engine bogged right down and sounded like it was about to die. once it was warmed up, it ran pretty well. but today it flat out died on me. it would start up, and when i tried to accelerate, it would kind of sputter and eventually die. it didn 't want to run at all, so i had to push it back to the garage. the oil is a little milky around the fill cap, so is that a sign of anything? the fuel filter was changed earlier this summer, and the spark plugs were changed at the same time the oil was changed.any ideas?there 's white sludge on the oil cap, a little pooled inside the valve cover, and all along the dipstick.the fuel filter was changed in august, and it was ordered directly from a john deere dealer so it 's exactly to specs. update: shortly after posting this, i went back out and tried to run it. it started right up and idled fine. i opened up the screw on the carburetor to allow it to idle higher, and i don 't know if that somehow fixed it, but i was able to drive the gator around and it didn 't want to stall at all. i did notice that power on demand was pretty low, and that i struggled to get up a hill that was probably no more than 25 degrees. then a couple times when i had it wide open, and pulled my foot off slowly, it backfired as it was being bogged down. does this sound like the carburetor might just needed cleaned? John Deere Gator Has Inconsistent Idle When Cold?
I noticed this a few weeks ago in the 2007 gator with a 620i kawasaki 2 cyl engine. when cold, it will start right up as always, but the idle isn 't smooth. it 'll sound good, then sort of slow down like it 's dying, then the rpms will kick back up to normal levels, and then it slows down again and will repeat that cycle. after the gator has been driven and is warmed up, i can put it in neutral and it 'll purr like a kitten. the oil was changed last week, i replaced the spark plugs, replaced the fuel filter, and checked the air filter which had zero effect on the rough idle. what else can i check? is it some sort of electronic idle issue that a jd dealer would have to fix? and would a small engine like this have an iac like a car?thanks for any words of advice.it 's a fuel injected engine, though, so no carb. checking the injectors wouldn 't be a bad idea though, so i 'll try to check that out. John Deere 675b Diesel Lift Arms Jumpy?
So what happens is the skid loader will be running fine then the lift arms start getting jumpy and if i shut it off and turn it back on it runs fine for awhile. another thing that happens is sometimes they won 't go up or down but it sounds like pretty much a gas leak on one of the hydraulic hoses. but on some days nothing happens and it run fine.thanksand i changed all the fluids and filters not too long ago, and all the fluids are still full. I just put a new belt on and also changed some of the gears. i use the belt and the pulley and it spins a little and then it is is really hard to move it but after you do that it it happens again and again. the lawnmower can move the pulley because it is so hard so you have to turn it off because it starts smoking. any help would be great thank you. John Deere Snowmobile Wont Fire?
I gotta a 75 john deere snowmobile 300 with 899 miles... and i cant get it to even fire a tad. i did a compression test i got 90 ft lbs in one cylinder and about 65 in the other, which is tad depressing but theres enough compression to get something to fire.. i got a good healthly blue continuous spark, and fuel is there. even put it directly in the cylinder, and i cant even get a sputter :/ use starting fluid dosnt help. i got air, fuel, compression. why wont it start???? any ideas? plz help snow is melting :) lol (Read answers)

John Deere Gator Oil Pressure Light Comes On Only During Idle?
The gator 620i runs and idles like it 's brand new, but after it warms up, if you let it idle the oil pressure light will flicker. it will almost be totally illuminated, but it 's like a fluorescent light with a ghost in it. if i feather the throttle, the light dims, and if i moderately throttle it, the light goes away. i was told by a buddy that has done a lot of work with gators that over the winter, the oil light will come on if there 's condensation in the gas, and that it can be prevented using heet. i don 't quite get how a 4 cycle engine can do this, but i 'm trusting him for now. the oil was changed in september and still looks clean and at the right level when i checked today. i used the proper dosage of heet today, drove it around under different throttle levels with some idling in-between, for half an hour. it didn 't solve the light issue though.what exactly is going on? any other suggestions?
